“As long as you live, keep learning how to live.” -Seneca
“We are meant to feel it all, and bear it all, together.” -Laura Delano
Welcome. It can be hard to reach out and I’m glad you have made it this far. It is an honor and a privilege to be let into someone’s life. Your voice matters and there are many ways to "do" therapy. Together we'll discover what works best for you. My style is genuine, down-to-earth, and gently direct. We often benefit from developing greater self-acceptance, self-compassion, and self-forgiveness and from gaining more access to (and expression of) our emotions.
I aim to co-create with you a secure relationship that can withstand and even lean into discomfort, since some emotions (grief, fear, irritation, shame, etc.) can be uncomfortable to feel. I strive to create a welcoming space for people from all backgrounds via warmth, empathy, and ongoing learning about people whose identities I do not share.
My lived experience and/or experience with clients includes working with substance use concerns, anxiety, depression,loss/grief, parenting (including adoptive and foster), infertility, relational concerns, disturbing memories or trauma, wellness, and more.
Whatever your concerns, the increased awareness, acceptance, and connection possible in counseling are key to creating change in our lives. It may be helpful to remember: We are so much more than our difficulties.
